Author K.L. Hall: Welcome to Character Cocktails & Conversations, Rome! Before I jump into it, tell me, do youprefer to be called Rome or Roman?

Rome: Thanks for having me, and Rome is cool.

Author K.L. Hall: How are you tonight? You look well. Wrist shining and everything.

Rome: [laughs] Thank you. Thank you. I’m good. Great, even.

Author K.L. Hall: Happy to hear it. So, okay, Rome. I’ll start us off with a softball question. Tell the readers what you’re sippin’ on tonight? What’s your drink of choice?

Rome: D'USSÉ

Author K.L. Hall: Mmm, okay. okay. I’m a dark liquor kind of gal myself, so I can dig it. I’ve got some Henny mixed with pineapple, orange juice, and Sprite in my glass, which is what I’m going to blame this next question on [laughs]. What’s your favorite position?

Rome: [laughs] Wow. You ain’t wasting no time getting to it, are you?

Author K.L. Hall: [laughs] I’m just sayin’ the readers have already seen you in action in chapter one, so they wanna know what’s in store for the rest of the book.

Rome: Are we talkin’ straight penetration or any position?

Author K.L. Hall: Mmm. Good question. Penetration.

Rome: Aight, aight. It may sound old school, but I’d have to say, missionary.

Author K.L. Hall: Oh shit. I don’t think I saw that coming, but okay. Why missionary?

Rome: It’s simple. I’m a pleaser and I like to see the love faces on my woman. That’s how I read the room. Does she want me to go faster, slower, put her legs up? What’s she ready for? In that position, I can read her mind through her eyes and facial expressions.

Author K.L. Hall: What is your biggest turn on (sexually or not)?

Rome: My biggest turn on is a woman who enjoys pleasing as much as she likes being pleased.

Author K.L. Hall: Okay, let me paint a quick picture for you before asking the next question. So, you’re with your lady. Things are getting hot and heavy. She says she wants you to put on some music to really set the mood. What’s your go-to song on your sex playlist?

Rome: Damn I can only pick one? That’s a hard ass question.

Author K.L. Hall: I know. I had to pull out the big guns with this one! Take a second to scroll through your freak playlist that I know you got on your phone and get back to me while I pour myself another drink.

Rome: Aight, aight.

Author K.L. Hall: Okay I’m back. What you got for me? What’s your final answer? I feel like you give off this grown and sexy vibe. So, I’m thinkin’ you’d pick something old school. Am I wrong?

Rome: [laughs] Nah, not too off. I’d say you can’t go wrong with Usher’s Confession album. Shit, ‘Seduction,’ ‘Can You Handle It?,’ ‘That’s What it’s Made For.’ Banger after banger.

Author K.L. Hall: Oooh nooiiicceeee! Okay, Rome. We already know your freak level is on a thousand! What’s the freakiest thing you’ve done? And don’t be shy. My readers can handle it!

Rome: [laughs] See, you tryna get me in trouble.

Author K.L. Hall: Nope. I’m just trying to give the people what they want.

Rome: Aight, aight. Over the years, I’ve had threesomes, foursomes, even orgies. Nothing was ever off the table when it came to Draya and her sexual liberation.

Author K.L. Hall: Damn, okay Rome, I see you! Now that we’ve got some of the freakier questions out of the way, and the drinks have loosened you up a bit, let’s switch gears to talk about love.

Rome: [laughs] Ah, damn. Okay. What’s up? What you got for me?

Author K.L. Hall: I think one thing readers wanna know about you is when it comes to picking a partner (not a sexual partner, but a partner, partner), what do you look for in a woman?

Rome: Someone who is honest, ambitious with a well-rounded sense of who she is and doesn’t apologize for it. It’s also a plus if she understands the game.

Author K.L. Hall: What’s been your biggest life lesson so far, whether it has to do with love or life in general?

Rome: Um, I’d have to say my biggest life lesson so far is that money can’t buy real loyalty, real love, or true happiness.

Author K.L. Hall: Damn. That was deep. Somethin’ for the people to unpack. Now, we’re going to try a quick exercise. I’m going to say a word, and then I want you to say the first thing that come to your mind, okay?

Rome: Aight.

Author K.L. Hall: Love.

Rome: Happiness.

Author K.L. Hall: Hate.

Rome: Irrelevant.

Author K.L. Hall: Marriage.

Rome: Trust.

Author K.L. Hall: Sex.

Rome: Fun.

Author K.L. Hall: Money.

Rome: Life.

Author K.L. Hall: So, it looks like we have time for one more question. Are you ready?

Rome: Ready.

Author K.L. Hall: Out of the five love languages, (words of affirmation, physical touch, quality time, receiving gifts, and acts of service), what is yours, and why?

Rome: Physical Touch. It’s a love language so we speak to each other through our bodies and touch. You can read a person’s interest and intentions from a simple touch.

Author K.L. Hall: Rome, thank you so much for your time tonight. It has been my pleasure telling your story. Is there anything you wanna say to the readers before you go?

Rome: Thank you for having me. I had fun. And, um, I’ll say, if you’re looking for a read with a lot of twists, turns, and everything in between, then definitely check out ‘A Lover’s Heist II’ when it drops on April 19th.
